JustCity SF was born from the recognition of San Francisco’s unique identity as “The City” in the Bay Area and from the urgent need to protect its legacy as a multicultural, justice-driven place for all. Our coalition is made up of native and long-time San Franciscans who are deeply embedded in the communities we serve.

All San Franciscans deserve to imagine, and live, a flourishing future. JustCity SF is a multiracial, multicultural, coalition committed to building a more just and inclusive San Francisco. For too long, Black and brown residents have had limited political representation, been physically displaced to segregated neighborhoods or outside the city limits, and have not experienced the city’s prosperity. In short, San Francisco has told its Black and brown residents, through explicit action, that they do not belong here.

We exist to change that. We cultivate belonging by shifting who holds power–politically, economically, and culturally–and by centering the stories, leadership, and lived experiences of Black and brown communities who have long contributed to San Francisco’s vibrancy.
